This past week, a racist message was written on a sign at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) will not tolerate acts of hate. We are committed to ensuring a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for everyone.
If you see a hate crime, please report it. You can report concerns or information to the UMB Police Department at 410-706-6882, or the UMB Hotline at 866-594-5220 (calls can be anonymous) or online at UMB's EthicsPoint Hotline.
UMB President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, said in a letter to the community addressing the racist graffiti on May 11, “I am deeply troubled by the disturbing act of hate and want to be very clear that UMB will not tolerate hate and discrimination.
“UMB seeks to be a place where all feel safe and welcomed. Our core values guide us, and we are enriched by diversity and inclusion, in the broadest sense. I ask that we each look out for one another.”
