Coronavirus

Site contains basic information about COVID-19, suggested preventative measures, answers to common questions, links to governmental resources, and more.

The global outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is likely be a health concern to the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) community for the near future. We believe an important first step to maintaining health and wellness is information. To that end, the Office of Communications and Public Affairs, in conjunction with UMB subject matter experts and the Office of Emergency Management, has created a coronavirus information website at umaryland.edu/emergency/coronavirus.

The website contains basic information about COVID-19, suggested preventative measures, updates on travel restrictions, answers to common questions, and links to official resources at the national, state, and local levels. There also are links to health and wellness resources as well as other information specific to the UMB community.

Additionally, in the coming days you’ll begin to see reminders on electronic message boards and on social media about simple steps to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses, be it the novel coronavirus or the common flu (influenza).
